Serenity Swing

One of the most famous hikes in San Luis Obispo, is the hike to the Serenity Swing. The Serenity Swing is atop one of the many hills behind Cal Poly within Poly Canyon. I usually run along trails in Poly Canyon, and I was eager to hike with my friends to the Serenity Swing. We decided spontaneously on a boring Saturday to venture out into Poly Canyon and hike to the Serenity Swing. We probably hiked on one of the worst days of the year. It was a few days after it had rained, so the ground was all mud and it was also extremely windy. We were racing against the clock to make it to the Serenity Swing before sunset, so we took all the shortcuts. The worst shortcut was up the face of the hill. I was crawling on all fours and actually scared for my life because I could only imagine sliding down the hill just by misplacing a step. Luckily we made it safe and sound, and returned back to the dorms just as the sun was setting. The hike was beautiful and the views were amazing.
