California's Winter

Upon returning to Cal Poly for the winter quarter, California is also experiencing it's winter. Many of my out of state friends are shocked that it is not warm and sunny even in the winter, but as a native Californian, this rain season is extremely unusual. We now have rivers running through our campus and in the Canyon! The rain is nice and all, but after awhile now I am tired of constantly having to clean the mud off my rain boots and running back to my dorm when I forget a rain coat. Luckily all this rain is really helping our drought, I heard from one of my friends that we are actually 40% out of the drought! I am not too sure on how accurate that statistic is, so do not quote me on that. All this rain has made the campus so much prettier because the hills are green and everything is coming to life. Hopefully the rain will come to an end soon, so we can go back to days of sun and 70 degrees.
