Orientation week was probably one of the most stressful weeks of my life. Don't get me wrong, I loved every minute of it. Cal Poly is known for having the #1 orientation programs in the country. For me, orientation week was a time to meet new people and explore what the city of San Luis Obispo has to offer. I was very anxious during the first day of W.O.W. because I like to think of myself as an introvert, but over time I will open up and be my loud, sassy self. Leading up to the start of W.O.W. I knew the week could either be amazing or terrible, all based on my group. I heard from lots of upperclassmen that you can meet your future best friends during this week, so for me, the pressure was on.

Luckily, I was grouped with wonderful people who wanted to take advantage of everything our W.O.W. leaders had to offer, rather than sneak off and find parties. Our week consisted of lots of laughter, smiles, and some tears. During the week, we participated in tons of bonding activities, like hiking Bishop, trip to Avila Beach, Wowarama, paintball, a soccer game, and a concert by Echosmith.

W.O.W. helped me establish my first college friends, and a great support group I can always count on. Throughout the week we became a family and I can not imagine my life without them. Each and every member of Group 74 Space Explore has a special place in my heart and I will cherish the wonderful week we all shared. My transition into college was so much smoother with the support of everyone. I know I have established some truly amazing lifelong friendships. Thank you Cal Poly and our amazing W.O.W. leaders Ivy and Addison.
